This is another piece of Marina. She was my very first girlfriend. I was lucky. She was 19 when we met and I was 15. She would come and pick me up from school in her car with BEER and CIGARETTES whilst all the other guys waited for the bus and I would feel SPECIAL. At that time, she almost always smelt of cigarettes and warm wine. Her car certainly did. A green 1976 Corolla. Oh the days that are gone.

"But time strips our illusions of their hue and one by one, some great mistake; casts off its bright skin like a snake"

Lord Byron

Or rather - "We forget because we must, and not because we will."

Nietzsche
