This piece was a commission that I did far too cheaply, but was happy to do. Samantha is a beautiful woman who obviously loves her children very much, and the ancient pose has a real purity to it.

I like to think of the commissioned work that I do as staying with that family for a long time; generations, perhaps, and I think this was one of the times when I was able to believe that.
