This diptych was a wedding gift for Shevaun and Rainer, two old friends of mine. They remain, I believe, deeply in love with each other and have two children now. It is rare and beautiful to witness such an ancient practice succeed where so many fail. Shevaun has helped me a great deal in the past and I am so pleased, so truly happy for her. So few kind and sweet hearts seem to receive dividends for their goodness; for their love. Er... I do feel that Shevaun kinda tells Rainer off too much and he is such a fine catch and so beautiful; I worry about her even beginning to alienate him. But that's really none of my business at ALL and I should shut the hell up. These photographs of these two pieces are truly awful and I am calling Shevaun now to ask her to take some new ones for me. She is a very gifted designer and has produced some extraordinary works. My favourite was a coin celebrating the 50th anniversary of the end of WW2. She won an award for it. It was a hologram shifting through a few frames of the famous footage of the man dancing in the street somewhere in Europe with delirious happiness. Painting Rainer was fucking hard. This was because he is six foot eight. Not making his extraordinary height look lame and disproportionate, or like an alien, was a major challenge. The first few goes I had at it looked specifically alien and lame lame lame. She designed the dress herself and it remains the most beautiful piece of clothing of any I have seen, anywhere, only perhaps excluding some of the amazing Sinn's designs. The wedding was a complete crack-up for me because I was a bridesmaid (they wouldn't let me wear a dress though.) and the two women bridesmaids were about 8 inches or so taller than me. This combined with their high heels meant I had to stand on top of whatever was handy in all the photographs. I did get to perve on them getting changed a little bit... which was awesome; they were both sexy as hell in a giantess sort of way!
