Marina was my very first girlfriend and her and I are still close. She is an extraordinary woman.

This piece was done in watercolours and is pretty big... it was very difficult to do. Normally with watercolour there is the possibility of lifting paint and so correcting mistakes, at least to an extent. In this piece however, there was no such possibility of recovery from error. It was the nature of the paper, which I had to order. I was pretty annoyed about it. It was a struggle, though the results were worthwhile.

It does however look exactly like her and does justice to her skin, I think.
