| There is less of a story to this piece.
It was just one of those moments when it all works out. Normally I try and
get a more romantic setting, or even better a really dodgy old room and
put a stunning girl in it. This time it's a modern window (and not really
accurate at that - not important.) I was not doing too well at the time and trying to keep my ambitiousness curtailed (hence the size of the piece) so there isn't much in the way of narrative symbolism (could be a good thing?) I do like the double reflection stuff and if you'll look in the top left corner, u can see a drawn hand print. This has become a trademark of mine and appears in my work whenever it isn't inappropriate. She is thinking, probably dark thoughts - over-laid of course with her beauty. She is utterly self involved. I had changed the name to insouciance, which means indifference or apathy, but hadn't been organized enough to print the new title A friend had suggested "intrusion" and that was an option too - it looks such a private moment. |
