I did this piece whilst still atending university - late 2nd year I think.Most of the time life drawing does not suit painters as the poses are way too fast for us to get the image down, particularly in oil paint. Normally by the time I had decided to participate I had wasted a third of the three hours running backwards and forwards with my painting stuff setting up. Or I was late.

We had the same model for much of the course, which was really frustrating but there is a shortage apparently.

Christi was really cool and I bummed smokes from her I think. It is all a little hazy still though. This piece was an epiphany for me as I had never really grasped colour so well before this, well not from life anyway.
