I really enjoyed doing this, it was cool fun. A switch from the watercolours I have been attempting and far easier to control; light and high-light... chiaroscuros (technical painterly word for extremes of light and dark.) Atalanta was a huntress in Greek mythology, and very beautiful. She would race any suitors that came to her on foot, and if they won they could have her - if not they were put to death. It may be completely inappropriate to this piece but it is the favourite Greek myth of the girl who appears in it, so I thought it would work and really...
what the hell.
