This is a newly finished (as of 16th of October 2006) water-colour, drawn - erm painted – from an old photo of my lovely ex-girlfriend Kirsty. When my pc blew up a few weeks ago AGAIN I had to look for imagery I had already printed out and found this somewhere. She was very good to me. I am intensely proud of her. She has through her own will, talent and intelligence, created a magnificently successful career and healed herself from wounds that were engulfing her when we met. She was a terrible mess then, but her kindness and integrity have remained a constant.
Being with me, yeah ok, I will admit it I guess I am hard work. But there are fringe benefits… like those Goths from the late 80s heh. I think I have a specific aptitude for adoration, and have more perhaps at my disposal to offer the adored than other adorers may.
I took this shot soon after I met her, though the resemblance is not as photographic as a great deal of my work, as it was done almost entirely from memory… this was of course because I lost the print of the photograph almost as soon as I had begun painting it. This is the nature of my life. It’s ok. There are fringe benefits to me too. And I am growing my hair because I am an artist and I CAN so nyah.
